The VSA and Volunteer 50 at the San Diego Food Bank!

March 13, 2018

The Veterans Staff Association joined Volunteer 50 at the San Diego Food Bank last week packaging 8,000 pounds of produce which the Food Bank will distribute among its many programs.

From the San Diego Food Bank site:

The Food Bank relies on individuals and volunteer groups to help us in our warehouse, at food distribution sites, and at Food Bank events.

Volunteer projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning and packaging fresh produce for immediate distribution.

  • Inspecting, sorting, boxing, and labeling food donations.

  • Assembling food packages for our Senior Food Program, Moms & Children Food Program, Emergency Food Assistance Program, and our Food 4 Kids Backpack Program

Thank you to Volunteer 50 for allowing us to join you to assist this wonderful program!
